Girls Camp 2008- Treasure Seekers
Copperhills 17th ward
3 Nephi 13:19-21
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and thieves break through and steal;
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
This last weekend I was able to go to Girl's Camp with the young women in my ward. I serve as camp director assistant along with my other 2 friends, Dana and Cindy. It was such a blast. We stayed for two nights up in the Uintah Mountains at the Soapstone Campground. Our theme for this year, was "Treaure Seekers; how to seek and find eternal treaure" with a pirate spin-off.
We have the cutest girls, they were all so great and got along so well. I love them all so much.
Me and our youth leader, Jordan Beckstrom, what a sweetie-pie.
Our awesome bishop and his wife came up for testimony meeting
and stayed the last night with us. We were so glad they could come,
they are so awesome.
Tracy, Dana and me posing for the camera (we are dorks!)
The three chica-boo's. Dana, me and Cindy.
We all serve as camp directors together and love doing it.
Dana and me goofing off!
Brother Trent Grandy, The coolest priesthood helper of all time.
We love you Trent! You Rock!
Brother Grandy, starring as,"Jarome" the gay hairdresser.
Skit night came around and so we did improvisations. This would be the girl's acting out a scene in which they were at the salon and were in disagreement with their flamboyantly gay hairdresser (played by Brother Grandy, who by the way did a fantastic job) It was so much fun and had us all laughing hysterically!
Some of the young women acting out an aerobics instructing class.
The girls pretending to be overly-excited cheerleaders.
Look at all that food, yummy Hawaiian haystacks!!! We had way to much food!
Me and Jessica Allen, Cutie-Pie!
The Leasders; Cindy, Sister Green, Jen Allen, Me, Dana-Banana, and Tara.
Our silly Girls
More silly girls!
I am so grateful that I get to serve in Young Womens as Camp Director. It is a ton of work and can get a bit overwhelming at times but it is such a wonderful experience that I have enjoyed so much. The best part for me is getting to know the girls better, creating great friendships with the women I serve with, and the spirit that I feel during testimony meeting and our Friday night devotional. It is such a huge pay off to hear these girls bare their sweet testimonies after all of the hard work that you have done in hopes to strengthen their testimony. I love them all so much. I am so grateful for the church and the gospel and the many opportunities it gives me to serve others. I have loved every moment of my experience at camp and hope to get to do it again next year!

I love that you are a die-hard girls camper like me! Although you look way to cute in those pictures to be camping! I will always Remember the Bennion Hts girls camp as my favorite, no matter how many others I go to! We had some good times!
WOW, I can't believe how much those girls have grown up. What a great group of girls, they are lucky to have you as their camp director...you're amazing!!! I'm jealous I wasn't there.
I would totally want you as a leader at girls camp....you are a crack up! You look way too cute to be #1) At girls camp, and #2) A leader at girls camp. Aren't the leaders supposed to be old and frumpty? You're blog is dang cute!
I always loved girls camp! I am in the Mia Maids now, so maybe I can get my foot in the door to go next year! :) Hope you guys are doing great!
How fun for you to be part of that. I am in young womens right now and I can't even imagine how fun you had with all those girls. The ward we are in right now does not have a lot of girls. The most that show up to YW class is three, no lie. We combine the clases. The ward I grew up in had a lot of YW, so moving to the ward we are in now totally shocked me. Thanks for sharing those thoughts and pictures.
