BYU Womens Conference 2009...(Blake girls edition)

I had the marvelous opportunity to yet again attend a lovely estrogen filled week of women's conference at BYU. It was a great (and interesting, and histerical) experience! I attended this event with my adoreable mother and all 5 of my fabulous sister's, Amber, Shanelle, Brooke, Amber Hatch Blake (sis-in-law) and of course, Keelee (she counts as a sis).

I love this experience because I always return feeling spiritually up-lifted, re-motivated, and re-assured. I would recommend anyone (LDS or not) to consider attending, you will be better for it, I promise!!!

Here are some of the things I learned:

Our trials are customized just for us, to teach us what we must learn to better ourselves.

God would willingly spare us our trials. But because he loves us and knows us so well, He let's us endure trials so that we can be refined to be made perfect so we can return to live with Him again.

A hard trial means, YOU ROCK!!!!! God doesn't give us anything He knows we can't conquer, so if you are dealing or have delt with a hard trial, it is because you can do it, and you are awesome.

Look upward and move forward! After passing through a tough trial, move on or keep moving on through it.

Willingly let the Lord lead you through your trials even if you weren't so willing to accept the trial in the first place!

The atonement is used not just to cleanse but to change. If we have fully repented then we have actually "changed".

Reverence isn't just about being quiet but is a way of showing respect and love for the Savior. It is shown not only through our volume of voice, but through our actions as well.

Christ did not pay the debt for us so we would have to re-pay the debt to Him but instead He paid the debt so He could require of us to change our sins into strengths so we can become like Him.

Trials are like our own personal Grand Canyon being chipped away by a hammer and chisel or even sometimes dynamite, depending on the trial. But with each chip, or blow to the canyon walls we have just expanded our canyon and made more room to feel love and compassion for others.

That is all I can think of off the top of my head, my notes were left at my in-laws.

I bumped into Tamaryn while I was there

Some other highlights of the trip was being with my sisters and mom. It was a blast and i am pretty sure my six pack (or at least the six pack that is tucked away in the cooler ;0) ) got a good start. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. I discovered the Brick Oven in Provo and we ate there amazing pizza both nights we were there....YUM!!!

If you are going to stay overnight with my sister's and mom you must pack earplugs for Brooke's snoring; a parka, wool slippers, and a sweat pants to sleep amongst Keelee who prefers her room to be at the temperature of something similar to the Arctic circle or Antartica; a shaver for Shanelle considering she wrapped her legs around mine all night and snuggled with me; room spray for both Amber's, i will leave it at that! Duct tape for my mom to keep her quiet during all the speakers. Least to say, we had good times!!!!! Love you all.
