Author Anna Quindlen reminds us not to rush past the fleeting moment.
She said: “The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less”(Loud and Clear [2004], 10–11).
Starting today I am going to be better. I am going to listen, love, communicate, cherish, enjoy, teach, preach and prepare my children. Time for everything else later.

That is so true. I keep trying to remind myself that but its so easy to get caught up in a routine and not cherish the little things. What is the name of her book? Im ready for a good read...and another girls night?
i've heard that quote before, i love it. i'm sadly the same way--all i think about is the next nap, or bath, or bedtime.
Also, you look amazing! i don't think you need to even lose another 15 pounds, you look great.
I love that quote! It is so refreshing to hear things like that so we can take a step back and remember what really is most important in this life!
p.s. still waiting to see pictures of our girl's night...did any turn out? Will you email them to me?
