If I had money coming out my ears, one thing that I would absolutely love to do is buy old homes and refinish them. When I say old homes, I mean OLD homes. The kinds with porches and high peaked gables, thick finished carpentry and funny shaped windows. I have such a love for these old buildings and the character that comes with them. One day, when my children are grown and on their own, I would love to down-size to one of these houses and make it my very own.
Over the years when I have been driving with the kids and we spot a cool house, I will pull over a snap a picture of it. I have found that I have quite the collection of these photos now. Check some of them out. You might see your own house or someone's that you know. These houses are in a cute little neighborhood by West Minister College. We love to take Sunday drives through these kind of neighborhoods and see what other cool houses we might find.

Jami, I also love those old homes. I think they have so much style! Their are some of my favorites up in Heber. Anyways, you have the cutest little family!
The 2nd one is my favorite!! You have always been obsessed with older homes, they really are so cute but honestly I think it'd scare me a little bit.
I'm so with you. There are so many things about these homes that you just can't get with the newer ones. I've always wanted to redo one too. Hopefully I'll get a client someday that lives in one. It makes me sad when I see the ones that just aren't taken care of. So much character. Rayce still talks about Chase all the time. Rayce has spring break all next week, we should get them together to play.
Love the homes! I totally remember you. You were at my wedding shower and didn't we talk a bit on myspace? It's been a while. Your family is so cute. It's been fun following your blog. Hope to you see you guys before too long.

They are so beautiful! I love that you take pictures!!
I know these homes! My Oma (Grandma) use to live right there in Sugarhouse and I've always loved driving around looking at these old homes. They all have so much character and none of them are the same. The inside work is so great too like drawers built right into the wall, what a great idea and space saver. Why don't builders do that anymore? It's my favorite. Anyway, I love your blog, you and your family is adorable!
